Born: May 7. Winnipeg, Manitoba
Married to Peter, daughters Esther and Taryn

Gail is a storyteller, author, teacher and librarian. Gail teaches four courses for the University of Alberta: Storytelling; Canadian Children's Literature for Young People in Schools and Libraries (offered as a distance education course on the Internet), Young Adult Literature and graphic novels and comic books and their role in schools and libraries.

She is the author of 10 books on folklore and popular culture as well as numerous articles on graphic novels, folklore, and storytelling.
