Deborah Kerbel is the award-winning author of over thirty books for young readers, including Fred & Marjorie, winner of the Forest of Reading Yellow Cedar Award and the Red Cedar Award, Iggy Included, a Forest of Reading Silver Birch Fiction Honour Book, and Sun Dog, a Forest of Reading Blue Spruce Honour Book. Her novels books have been shortlisted for the Governor General's Literary Award, the Canadian Library Association's YA Book Award and the Rocky Mountain Book Award, among others. Deborah was born in London, England, raised in Toronto, and currently lives in Thornhill with her family.

From picture books to MG and YA novels, Deborah has material for students of every grade from K-10. She's an experienced presenter and energetic speaker who uses an interactive style to engage her audience. She loves visiting new schools, travelling, sharing her passion for books, and meeting readers and writers of all ages. Her enthusiasm is infectious and Deborah has often been called “the best author who has ever visited our school”.
