Biography

Susan Allen of Toronto, ON is a storyteller, shadow puppeteer and artist working in the field of learning through the arts in Toronto, Ottawa, Japan and Indonesia. She has performed and given workshops since 1995 in Canada and Japan, at Harbourfront, The International Children's Milk Festival, the Ottawa Tulip Festival, the Humber Arboretum, the Toronto Zoo, The Indonesian Consolate (Toronto) and Embassy (Ottawa), the Museum of Nature (Ottawa), the Museum of Civilization (Ottawa), the High Park Children's Festival, High Park Children's Garden, the Italian Cultural Centre, the Chinese Canadian Cultural Centre, Ritsumei University, Kyoto, Japan, Shinwa University, Kobe, Japan in public schools in Toronto and in Ottawa and in daycares and day camps in Toronto.

Susan lived in Indonesia for 3 years and travels yearly to Bali and Java to support alternative education projects for children.

Organized and implemented a shadow puppet performance as global education and a fundraising effort for Tsunami Relief in Sumatra:

Organized and implementd fundraising event for Tsunami Relief in Sumatra, Consulate General of Indonesia.
