Biography

“I did not have many books as a child, let alone beautiful picture books, so when I read to my children I quickly became captivated by the words and pictures. I dabbled with writing for a couple of years while I was busy with other projects and when the timing was right I sent in a submission for Elliot Moose. A year later the series was born and two years after that Elliot became a TV show. Who would have guessed? The character, Elliot, was rooted in my years as a toymaker and in a childhood where toys seemed truly alive.”

Andrea Beck is the author/illustrator of nine Elliot Moose titles and in 2003 broke away to illustrate a deliciously gruesome horror story called The Waiting Dog. She is currently illustrating the sweet and whimsical answer to that book.
