Biography

Barbara Bondar is a multi-published author of short stories, series for children, and nonfiction in over 20 highly praised educational and trade books published in the United States and Canada, most of which are still in print. She has worked primarily in inner city schools with children, parents and teachers in both the United States and Canada. The variety of her international experiences is reflected in her characters and settings and in her observations of how societal and technological change influence perception and lives.

Her fiction writing includes components for senior school students for Harper & Row (Evanston); short stories, gameboards and miscellaneous non-traditional materials for her thematic children's series, ZAP; sci-fi treatments for Greey de Pencier Books and OWL/TV projects; cross-genre titles for Perfection Learning; and the full scripting of an interactive, entry-level, internet game for Nortel.
