Born: Vancouver, BC BiographyBorn and raised in the Pacific Northwest into a family of artists and avid gardeners, I whiled away my childhood hours out in the garden looking for fairies. It was at the ripe age of 6 years old that I decided on my future path as a children’s illustrator. I attended Emily Carr College of Art and many evening classes, but it wasn’t until time spent submerged in my children’s classrooms that I really decided to pursue my illustration dream. The whimsical characters are inspired by experiences raising and studying my kids, they are my 'winged folk'...and to answer a common question: No, I have never actually seen a fairy. My desire to use an earth friendly medium led me to the trademark antique sepia effect done in brown ink with a quill pen and watercolour. I favor the same warm brown sepia tones in all mediums and subject matter. The sepia work also converts nicely to black and white for book interiors. Published Works
