Biography

Lena Coakley has twice won second prize in the Sunday Star Short Story Contest. Her first children's book, On the Night of the Comet was published in Fall 2004 by Orca Book Publishers. Lena studied writing at Sarah Lawrence College in New York and in Peter Carver's Writing for Children class at George Brown College. She lives in Toronto and is the Administrative Director of CANSCAIP, the Canadian Society of Children's Authors Illustrators and Performers.
