Biography

Lois was born in Montreal but grew up primarily in Riverview, New Brunswick where she was an avid reader and journal writer. She received an Arts degree in English from Acadia University and an Education degree from Universtiy of Alberta. After three years of teaching in Edmonton, Lois moved to Calgary where she received a Fine Arts dipoma. Lois currently teaches and writes in Calgary.

Through her experiences of living in various provinces in Canada, Lois developed a passion for introducing students to Canadian History through literature. She never forgot the beautiful Annapolis Valley from her days at Acadia University. This sparked her interest in recreating the tragic tale of the Acadian people, resulting in the publication of her first novel, Winds of L'Acadie.

During her teaching career Lois has shared her passion for reading, writing and music with students of all ages.

When Lois is not writing, talking about writing, or teaching, she has the unique joy of seeing life through the eyes of her adult son and her toddler daugher.
