Biography

Deborah has been performing for family audiences since 1980. Her special talent is nurtured by her background as a Dramatic Arts teacher (BEd,U of T.)and her training in clown, mime, voice, dance and acting. Deborah has toured extensively in Canada and the United States. In 1994 she represented Canada at an International Children's Festival in the People's Republic of China.

Deborah has perfomed many of her original songs on televsion programs including YTV's Ants In Your Pants, MTV/Nickelodeon's Eureka's Castle, and CBC's Mr. Dressup and Fred Penner's Place. Jim Henson Productions engaged Deborah to compose and produce songs for an English-as-a-foreign-language series for Japanese National Television.

After living in Toronto for 27 years she returned to her hometown of Brockville one week before the ice storm of January 1998.

This year Deborah is writing a second book for Kids Can Press and producing a fifth CD to go with her book The Jumbo Book of Music, Kids Can Press, March 2001.

In her spare time she hosts the Brockville Storytellers Group which she founded in 1998. She is also librettist and producer for an original adult opera - a work in progress.

Major Venues include: Centrepointe Theatre, Nepean; Kanata Civic Centre; Toronto Winter Festival Feb 2001.
Currently doing 6 week-long residencies called the "Trash Band" in Ontario schools on a grant from the Ontario Arts Council.
Concerts and workshops ongoing in Ontario schools.
