Biography

I've written fantasy books and stories as long as I can remember. For the first 10 years after leaving high school, I lived various places in Canada and Britain and tried a wide variety of jobs, from security guard to secretary to Animal Health Technician. Then I returned to school and had a wonderful time earning a degree in Linguistics from the University of Toronto, specializing in Old English, Irish Gaelic and Latin. Since graduating, I've worked as a technical writer, and I currently work for IBM. My husband and I maintain an eclectic web site at www.esmerel.com, where we also distribute a typing tutor that we wrote for a one-handed 8-year-old girl.
