Biography

"Watch your absolute favourite show then turn off the TV! Start reading and start living." L.M. Falcone is a former television writer for such series as The Littlest Hobo, The New Monkees! and the hugely popular pre-teen series Are You Afraid of the Dark? She also created and produced the situation comedy pilot Choir Practice starring Susan Anton. Lucy spent ten years writing for television and film in Los Angeles before returning to Canada. She is a former teacher who resigned early in her career to pursue writing. Some colourful odd jobs kept body and soul together: Private Investigator for the Acadia Investigation Bureau, props assistant on a feature film, catering for the television series The Golden Girls and, she once applied for a job as a fish plucker! Lucy loves to travel when researching a new project. She's lived in an Amish community in Pennsylvania and on a sheep farm in England - in the very village where Robin Hood lived! Lucy now makes Toronto her home. She is presently writing juvenile thrillers, the first of which, The Mysterious Mummer, received a Telefilm Canada grant to be adapted into a screenplay. Her other novels include, Walking With The Dead and The Devil, The Banshee and Me.

Three hot spooky books and a hit television series all get discussed and dissected in this fast-moving, interactive presentation for Grades 4-6. As a former television writer, and now an author, I use videos, novels, and picture books to cover the many areas of writing. Some of these include Handy Tips/Brainstorming/Research/Editing & Publishing. I also read from my novels and talk about the importance of inspiration and imagination.
