Born: July 25, 1953.
Husband - Joe, two sons, Jason (21) at university, Jesse (17) in high school, cat - Scooter - fat, lazy and loveable.

Biography

Barbara Haworth-Attard was born in Kitchener, Ontario, and lived in Elmira, Ontario for six years before moving to the port town of Goderich. Her fondest memories of childhood were weekly Saturday visits to the library and she is still a frequent visitor to the library today. She presently resides in London, Ontario, with her husband and two teenaged sons.

Barbara's first book, a contemporary, historical junior fiction novel, Dark of the Moon was released in June of 1995, and she has not looked back since. Her main interests are fantasy and historical fiction.

Barbara has also published short stories, one of which, "A Hero's Welcome" is part of a YA anthology, Winds Through Time, Beach Holme Publishers, Vancouver, 1998.

Barbara keeps a busy schedule conducting workshops and readings at schools and libraries, and has recently spoken on Canada's Home Children, based on her book, Home Child, at Doon Pioneer Village, Kitchener, Ontario, Victoria Seniors' Centre, Kitchener, Ontario, Lucan Heritage Banquet, London Friendship Quilters' Guild and Wesley Knox United Church, London, Ontario, among others. She also teaches creative writing courses for adults.
