Calgary, Alberta BiographyVal Lawton was trained as a librarian at the University of British Columbia, but in recent years has taken up illustrating for both children and adult audiences. Her greatest influences come from English children's illustrators such as Edward Ardizzone, Randolph Caldecott and Ernest Shepard whose free-wheeling pen, ink and watercolour sensibilities leave much up to a child's imagination. Val resides in Calgary with her husband, two kids and a beagle. Published Works
