3287 Upper McLeod Road
Born: May 20, 1957; Victoria, B.C. BiographyChris McMahen lives in British Columbia's Spallumcheen Valley just north of Armstrong. He is the self-proclaimed holder of the title, "By Far the Worst Recreational Hockey Player in Canada." Chris used his many years of on-ice futility as primary research for his new novel Klutzhood (Orca Books). Chris's first novel, published in 1996, was the cult classic Buddy Concrackle's Amazing Adventure (Coteau Books), although he's not exactly sure which cult thinks it's a classic. When he's not huddled over a keyboard or pad of paper writing, he can be found in one of many places. He may be cycling the back roads of the Spallumcheen Valley, in the basement making peculiar pottery which reflects his dislike of symmetry, lost somewhere on a ski trail, or in an elementary school in Armstrong where he works as a teacher-librarian and grade four teacher.
