Biography

Cathy loves to laugh, recognizes the power in tears and lives to share the stories that impart these feelings. Using every experience in life including her former jobs as a professional actress, teacher, teacher-librarian and present position as mother of two teenagers, she packs her performances and writing with the dynamics of living with intensity. Renowned for her thrilling combination of story, drama, theatre and song, her performances ride a wave from hilarity to powerful drama. Her repertoire includes both traditional folklore and original works on a range of subjects anywhere from Mythology to Creativity to Native Lore.

A unique aspect of Cathy's work is her performing "in role" featuring historical and literary characters. Mother Goose, Laura Secord, Mrs. Claus and even a Medieval Minstrel are just a few of the characters Cathy portrays. Whether it is in a theatre, on a festival stage, in a corporate board room or a school classroom, her variety of styles and approaches engages audiences of all ages. Performances across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Greece and Japan attest to her international acclaim.

Cathy also guest lectures for several universities and serves on the Provincial and National programmes for the highly recognized arts initiative, Learning Through The Arts. Her success as a novelist and her workshops on The Writing Process are now adding to her popular demand.
