Biography

Michelle Mulder loves exploring. In the past ten years, she's lived briefly in rural villages in the Dominican Republic and Peru, flipped burgers for a summer in Germany, cycled 6000 kilometres across Canada, learned to sew Caribou mittens in the Arctic, taken up belly dancing and written three children's books. As an author, she enjoys telling stories of kids that seize life's opportunities. She is particularly excited about the Fall 2007 release of Maggie and the Chocolate War (Second Story Press), which combines two of her passions: chocolate and the power of passionate kids.

Michelle holds an M.A. in Comparative Literature (U.B.C.). Her writing has been published in newspapers and magazines around the world, and when not writing, she enjoys reading, cycling and traveling. She has lived in Vancouver, Boston, Buenos Aires, Halifax and Montreal, and now makes her home in Victoria, B.C.
