Biography

Michelle is the author of Maggie and the Chocolate War, the first book in the Kids' Power Series, as well as three picture books. In her books and presentations to young people, she enjoys telling the stories of kids to who seize life's opportunities. When not writing, she loves exploring. Her adventures include cycling 6000 kilometres across Canada, leading writing workshops and learning to sew fur mittens in the Canadian Arctic, and beginning to study Arabic. She holds an M.A. in Comparative Literature (UBC), and she is looking forward to the release of the second book in the Kids' Power Series, Yeny and the Children for Peace, in Fall 2008.
