Biography

Julie was born and raised on the west coast of B.C. and has a background in Fine Arts, Classical Animation and Special Education. She has worked with young children in the Public School system as a Special Education Assistant for 13 years.

Her first picture book, I'm a Hop Hop Hoppity Frog is geared towards first time readers. Julie's humorous, semi autobiographical tale is about a very imaginative and active young frog who keeps his loving parents hopping morning until night.

This single child frog-family lives on a houseboat similar to that of the Northey's first home in the wilderness of the Kootenays.

By "reading" Julie's colourful and delightful illustrations one is able to glean additional messages of unconditional love and self acceptance within the "yes, dear, it really is time for bed and I mean it!" family story.

Julie's husband, Lawrence, an award winning sculptor, originally wrote the text as a song for an animated machine which Kirstie Alley purchaced in 1993. Julie reworked it into a humorous picture book both kids and parents will really identify with. His website is www.robotart.net
