Born:October 20, 1950. Toronto, Ontario BiographyChristina Senkiw's childhood obsession with drawing and writing developed into a lifelong vocation. In 1973 she completed a B.A. in Fine Art (with a double major in History and Studio) at the University of Toronto, and later studied illustration and design at the Ontario College of Art. Christina exhibited her paintings in 11 solo exhibitions, and participated in numerous group shows. Over the years, her artistic style has changed from abstract to figurative, but her use of rich colour has remained constant. Christina has worked in many areas in the arts: gallery administration, graphic design, art reviewing, publishing and editing. In the mid-1980's she created a series titled Drawings for Children which was exhibited in one of her solo shows. A publisher suggested that these drawings were perfect for children's books.
