Biography

Andrea was born in Toronto Canada.

As a child Andrea lived in Mexico where she learned to speak Spanish and eat hot chili peppers. She attended Thornton Hall, an arts high school, in Toronto. She received a B.A. in Psychology from Queen's University, and while she was living in Kingston she illustrated science booklets, and cartooned for the Whig Standard newspaper. After marring Rainer von Konigslow she moved to Montreal where she taught art to children at the Centre d'Education par la Music et les Artes. When she was pregnant, she found her new figure so comical that she began drawing greeting cards that sold at Shirley K maternity stores across Canada. She has had many art exhibits in Montreal and Toronto. Her books are translated into many languages including, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean etc. Andrea has three children, Alexis, Tai, and Kier. She also has four cats named Picatso, Zoo, Queen Latifa, and Saskatoon, and a Chinchilla named Chi.

Andrea traveled to the Northwest territories, and northern Quebec for Children's Book Week, and to Labrador for the Children's Literary Festival.

Andrea is now a published cartoonist, and is currently launching a daily strip.
