The CANSCAIP Collection
What Is It?
The CANSCAIP Collection is a travelling art exhibit of illustrations created for Canadian children's books. The Collection consists of 64 pieces of original art by 64 illustrators. All of the artists are members of CANSCAIP - the Canadian Society of Children's Authors Illustrators and Performers - and work professionally in the area of children's culture. THE CANSCAIP Collection is framed and ready to hang. All of the artwork has been published in children's books and, whenever possible, a copy of the relevant book is provided for display.
The CANSCAIP Collection offers the public an opportunity to enjoy the richness of the original artwork, and to appreciate the wide variety of media and techniques used by the artists. The viewer also has an opportunity to gain some valuable insights into the process of putting together an illustrated children's book.
