2014 Jurors

Award winning author and screenwriter Susin Nielsen has published children's books for all ages. Susin is best known for her funny and touching YA novels Word Nerd, Dear George Clooney: Please Marry My Mom, and the 2012 Governor General Literary Award winning The Reluctant Journal of Henry K. Larsen. Susin lives in Vancouver, BC.

   Illustrator, writer & broadcaster Kevin Sylvester is known for                    his award winning Neil Flambe series. His books Don't Touch That            Toad & Gold Medal for Weird both won Silver Birch Non-Fiction              awards, and his picture book Splinters was nominated for a 2012 Blue      Spruce Award. Kevin has also been a broadcaster with CBC Radio for        many years. He lives in Toronto, ON.

Teresa Toten is the author of the acclaimed Blondes series, The Taming, co-written with Eric Walters, and The Game. Toten has twice been short listed for the Governor General Literary Award and won it in 2013 for The Unlikely Hero of Room 13B, which also won the 2014 CBC Bookie Award in the YA category. Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Teresa lives in Toronto, ON.
