Congratulations to the following CANSCAIP members who are award winners and nominees:

Order of Canada

Writer Tim Wynne-Jones was invested as an Officer of the Order of Canada in a ceremony at Rideau Hall. Wynne-Jones has written more than 30 books for children, youth and adults. His many awards include the Governor General’s Award for Children’s Literature (twice), The Arthur Ellis Award (twice), The Boston Horn Book award (twice), The Edgar Award, and the Canadian Library Association Children’s Book of the Year Award (four times). Over the course of 35 years, Tim Wynne-Jones has travelled the length and breadth of Canada, conducting workshops and readings for children. He is a favoured keynote speaker at international conferences and festivals, including Packaging Your Imagination 2012. His books and critical writings have been translated into a dozen languages and published all over the world. A gifted and influential teacher, Tim Wynne-Jones has fostered the development of some of Canada’s most exciting new writers. Wynne-Jones has been invested as an Officer of the Order of Canada for his services to children’s literature in Canada.

Ten authors from the Victoria region have been shortlisted for the 2012 Victoria Book Prizes. The Bolen Books Children’s Book Prize nominees include The Whole Truth, written by Kit Pearson, HarperCollins. The winner will be announced on October 10.
