Wed. Apr. 11 at 6:00 ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS (registration at 5:50)

Members and Friends are welcome to attend and vote at CANSCAIP's Annual Meeting of Members on April 11, 2018.  

AGENDA, SLATE & FINANCIAL STATEMENTS: The agenda, slate of nominated executive, and financial statements will be circulated before the meeting.

PROXY: If you won't be at the Annual Meeting of Members in person, you can appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf. You can appoint President Sharon Jennings to hold your proxy OR you can appoint any Member or Friend of CANSCAIP who will be attending the meeting. To appoint a proxy, email office@canscaip.org with PROXY in the subject line.

Everyone is welcome! Members, Friends, and anyone who is interested in writing, illustrating and performing for kids can come to the CANSCAIP meetings held on the second Wednesday of each month. Our meetings include announcements by Members, information about the children's book community, and a speaker. 

MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS: Got a new book? Having a launch? Teaching a course? Other news? Make your announcement at the meeting! Send the following information to office@canscaip.org:

  • Your name
  • Book title, genre/reading age, publisher, publication date
  • Summary of your book, event, course, or other news 
  • Will you make your announcement at the meeting in person? 
  • In the email subject line include "Member Announcement YOUR NAME" 

SPEAKERS: A seasoned editor and a first-time author compare perspectives on the publication of the middle-grade novel Clutch. Award-winning editor Peter Carver is the children's and YA publisher at Red Deer Press. CANSCAIPer Heather Camlot had the winning entry in our 2014 Writing for Children Competition--and her story became Clutch  






LOCATION: Toronto Public Library Northern District Branch, Room 200 (2nd floor), 40 Orchard View Blvd. (1 block N of Eglinton, W off Yonge). 

NO DINNER THIS MONTH: We usually meet for dinner with the speaker at the Pickle Barrel before the meeting, but there is no dinner on April 11.

TRANSIT & PARKING: Exit the Eglinton subway and walk one block north on Yonge to Orchard View. If driving, the Yonge-Eglinton Centre's underground parking lot has an entrance on Orchard View. Green P parking lots are on Erskine, Castlefield and Sherwood.
