Bio
I'm the author of the award-winning YA fantasy series Last of the Gifted, Spirit Sight (Book 1) and Water Sight (Book 2), as well as more than 40 children's books and young adult novels with such publishers as Scholastic Education, Amicus, Lerner/ Lightning Bolt, Crabtree, and others.

My short stories and poetry appear in such literary magazines as subTerrain, Room, and Transition. My degrees include a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, along with a Master of Arts, a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communications, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

My experience includes being Virtual Writer-in-Residence for the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild (SWG) and mentor for SWG and TWUC. I've edited the chapbook of newcomer stories, "Opening Doors Through Stories" (SWG and Regina Open Door Society), for the past two years. As well, I have been editor for the literary magazines Spring and Windscript, and I've led writing workshops across the region for the past 10 years. I’ve also worked as a programmer for preschool and school-aged programs. My experience includes teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL), journalism, and theatre. As well, I enjoy exploring new technologies, and I work with a variety of tools from traditional print formats to social media.
