Bio
Paul Smith is a left-handed writer who came to storytelling after a career as a registered nurse. When moderate to severe PTSD forced him to step away from the ICU, he turned to writing as a daily therapeutic practice. Paul now creates heartfelt stories featuring anthropomorphic animals for children and young adults, while occasionally exploring more human-centered worlds in his adult fiction. Born in British Columbia and now living in Newfoundland, he draws on inspiration from both coasts and the quiet routines of home. When he isn’t writing, Paul can usually be found with his beloved Yorkshire Terrier, whose companionship shapes much of his creative life.
