Illustrators Night (everyone welcome!)
DATE & TIME: Wednesday, June 10, 7:00 p.m.
MEETING TOPIC: For our June meeting (Illustrators Night), Julie Kraulis discusses her work as an artist and illustrator, shares her process and what inspires her ideas, and what she is learning along the way. Her books include Whimsy’s Heavy Things and An Armadillo in Paris.
SPEAKER: Julie Kraulis is an artist, author and illustrator in search of good stories and grand rhythm. All that she encounters in this wide world becomes her inspiration. Since completing her Bachelor of Design in Illustration at the Ontario College of Art & Design, Julie spends most days in the studio with a pencil or paintbrush in hand, working on a wide range of projects from fine art to illustration to picture books. A dream come true when Tundra Books published her first two books, Whimsy's Heavy Things and An Armadillo in Paris, and she anticipates more book adventures ahead. She lives and works in Toronto, Canada…but sometimes wishes she could follow the ATP tour around the world.
