**IMPORTANT NOTE: Announcements are 2 minutes or less. Average talking speed is 260 words in 2 minutes. Please do a word-count of your announcement to be sure it's within the time limit. 


    MEETING TOPIC & SPEAKERS:  Join Daniel Aleman, Bev Katz Rosenbaum and Danielle Younge-Ullman,  three authors with new YA fiction on topics ripped from recent headlines, with moderator Paul Coccia (who also writes topical YA!), on the unique challenges of writing these kinds of books, how to avoid the pitfalls, and how to get your topical novels published.

    MEETING FORMAT: The meetings open with remarks by President Sharon Jennings, followed by announcements by Members and Friends, and then presentations by the meeting speakers. During the meeting, attendees can type questions for the speakers into Chat, which will be read aloud by the meeting coordinator.  Everyone is encouraged to linger after the meeting in breakout rooms to talk to each other in smaller groups.
