Bio
Judith Silverthorne is a multiple-award winning Canadian writer and television documentary producer. She is the author of numerous middle grade and young adult novels, two adult books, plus a picture book. Some of her books have been translated into different languages (French, Cree, German, Japanese). She has also written several documentary scripts for television, hundreds of articles and columns for newspapers and magazines, and worked as an instructor, editor, evaluator, and researcher.
Judith Silverthorne has lived most of her life in Saskatchewan, in both urban and rural settings, which is the inspiration for much of her material. She has presented hundreds of readings and writing workshops at libraries, schools and other educational institutions, and at conferences. Most recently, she was the Writer-in-Residence at the Regina Public Library (2018-2019). She currently does freelance work evaluating, editing, proof-reading and critiquing manuscripts for individuals and publishers.
