Professional information

Lisa writes poetry and picture books for children. Her picture book, "Skink on the Brink," illustrated by Suzanne Del Rizzo, won the 2014 SCBWI Crystal Kite Award for Canada. It was a finalist in the Rainforest of Reading (Grenada, St. Lucia, Montserrat) and was the winner of The Writers' Union of Canada's 2011 Writing for Children Competition. Some of Lisa's other titles include "Jungle Jitters" (Orca) and "A Moose Goes a-Mummering."(Tuckamore)

Outside of writing, Lisa’s primary love is travelling. She has lived in England, South Korea, Thailand and Scotland and has travelled throughout Europe and Asia. She now lives with her husband and their three children in Fergus, Ontario.
