Professional information

Bio
My background in orthotics and prosthetics allowed me to help others and now I have fun being an author, helping children see their world through books.
School Visits
I love doing school visits both in person and virtually!
With two books, I cover some great topics.
Ho'onani: Hula Warrior is set in Hawaii and explores what it means to believe in yourself, no matter what.

I Belong; Can I Play, is about Michael who has both autism and an intellectual disability. He is also available to speak with me on what exclusion and having a disability is like, both as a kid, and now as an adult.
Publications
Ho'onani: Hula Warrior is based on the documentary, A Place in the Middle.
This story explores gender roles.

I Belong; Can I Play? is co-authored with Michael Jacques. His story touches on invisible disabilities, exclusion, friendship, sports, and Special Olympics.
Awards
Ho'onani: Hula Warrior was nominated for the Sakura Award 2021
