CANSCAIP Meetings

CANSCAIP hosts regular meetings across Canada. Visitors are welcome to enjoy a meeting before joining CANSCAIP as a Member or Friend.

Toronto

The Northern District Library, Second Floor

40 Orchard View Blvd. (just north of Yonge & Eglinton)
Second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm.
NO JULY or AUGUST meeting.

Parking: The cheapest parking is the Green-P east of Yonge on Roehampton, but there is also parking next to the library on the west side and underneath the Eglinton Mall.
Transit: The library is one block north of the Eglinton subway stop on the Yonge line.

Montréal

Yes Oui CANSCAIP (the Quebec CANSCAIP chapter) holds meetings regularly. For more information, contact Carol Ann Hoyte.

Edmonton

Meetings begin at 7:00 pm the first Wednesday of October, February and April. In December and June, potluck events, also the first Wednesday of the month, begin at 6:30 pm. All meetings are casual, supportive gatherings that are held in members' homes. For information about CANSCAIP’s Edmonton group, please contact Dennis Lee via office@canscaip.org.

Ottawa

Ottawa CANSCAIP members meet informally a few times a year to network, socialize and learn. For more information, contact Rachna Gilmore via office@canscaip.org.

CANSCAIP Conferences

CANSCAIP hosts professional development conferences in three locations across Canada.

Prairie Horizons

The “Prairie Horizons” conference is held every other September in Lumsden, Saskatchewan. It provides an opportunity for children's writers, illustrators and performers from the prairies to gather for an inspiring weekend of business, learning and networking.

CANSCAIP Prairie Horizons Conference: “Beyond the Horizon: Imagine the Possibilities” was held on September 16 to 18, 2011.

Imagine a Story

CANSCAIP’s first and second “Imagine a Story” conference was held in May 2010 and 2011 in Montreal. This one-day conference for emerging and established creators of works for children is expected to become a regular event.

Packaging Your Imagination

The “Packaging Your Imagination" conference takes place every November in Toronto. For more more information, click here.
